Dr. Reneta C. Johnson
Executive Director/Head of Schools
Dr. Reneta Johnson is an educational leader who has spent her career working for social justice and educational equality for underserved students. She graduated from Alabama State University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In addition to her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Johnson holds a Master’s Degree in Development of Educational Programs, a Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, she began her career in education as teacher. She has held positions such as teacher leaders, teacher coach, assistant principal, principal and leadership coach. After working in an underserved community for many years, Reneta was accepted into New Leaders for New Schools. NLNS is a national leadership program that only trains and accepts the top 5% of leaders nationwide. After completing the program, Reneta worked as a school leader in high poverty areas. She has held leadership positions at the local, state, and international levels. Dr. Johnson has over twenty-five years of experience in the noble field of education.
Some of her notable accomplishments include being an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society and the Memphis National Young Urban League. Additionally, she has received several educational leadership awards including Outstanding Principal for the City of Memphis, Outstanding Principal for the Abu Dhabi Education Council, Alabama State University’s 50 Under 50 Recognition.
She is the wife of Dorrian Johnson and the mother of three beautiful children, Carmell, Anthony, and Dorrion Dior. Her hobbies include reading, running, watching sports, and participating in community service.
